Collection Feature: Talavera Pottery by Isabelle Collins

The moment you step into the Lavender Road boutique you’re surrounded by striking decor with origins from around the world. You can imagine these stunning handmade pieces come with a history of their own. At Lavender Road we are honored to be the passageway for these pieces and their stories to join your home.

This featured collection joins us from Puebla, Mexico. The Talavera Pottery collection is hand crafted by artist and historian Isabelle Collins.

Her work is inspired by historical motifs and each design reveals stylistic nuances of Italy, Spain, Morocco, China and Mexico. By preserving the traditional techniques and blending cultural influences, she continues to create unique pieces that transcend time.  Her work has been featured in numerous galleries, including the Smithsonian.

“We chose to bring this collection to Lavender Road for the pottery’s intricate patterns and cultural connection. Our passion to help you fill your home with decor and accessories that are more than functional, but meaningful. The Talavera Collection is not only beautiful but it also leaves a lasting impression.” - Marisa, Lavender Road Co-Owner

"My goal is to continue promoting this wonderful art form, preserving the traditional techniques and creating more designs that will be treasured as handcrafted works of ceramic art. I want my work to tell you stories, to take you on a trip across time to colonial Puebla and, always, to exalt our Mexican traditions." - Isabelle Collins, Talavera Pottery Artist (quote sourced here.)

Pieces by Collins can only be purchased in store. Please come visit and see how influential her work really is.
